Manage network incidents, service requests, and physical infrastructure tasks in Ames, IA.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network devices using ping, DNS lookup, and traceroute to resolve connectivity issues.
• Perform physical hardware tasks including patching, cable installation, swapping equipment, and installing power leads.
• Execute MACD (move, add, change, delete) activities for end-user LAN and voice devices.
• Console into routers, switches, and gateways to diagnose device status and port locations.
• Conduct visual hardware inspections, floor walkthroughs, and physical connectivity verifications.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in network technical support.
• Hands-on experience with LAN and hardware troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with DNS and basic copper cable troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform console access on routers, switches, and gateways.
• Knowledge of BCP and DR procedures.
• Experience managing service requests and incident queues.
• Familiarity with SACK.
