Description

Provide onsite technical support for network infrastructure and facilities management in a data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute rack and stack activities, including installing and de-installing network equipment, edge routers, and switches.
• Perform cable patching, power cable installation, and physical layer troubleshooting.
• Manage Move, Add, and Change (MAC) requests and hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
• Conduct onsite testing for data, voice, website, security, and circuit carrier testing.
• Support inventory management by receiving, tagging, tracking, and updating asset records.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in data communications.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and Cisco Nexus switches.
• Proficiency with high-speed fiber optic transport, including cleaning single-mode optical connections.
• Ability to measure, transmit, and receive on high-speed optics safely.
• Experience using technical tools such as BERT testers, cable testers, fiber testers, and sniffer tools.
• Practical knowledge of local and wide area networking (LAN/WAN) and network terminology.
• Experience working in data centers and communications closets.
• Ability to safely lift heavy objects and perform physical installation tasks.
• Availability to work a Sunday 3:00 PM to Thursday 11:00 PM shift.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Cisco Systems products and data transfer protocols.
