Description

You will provide monitoring services for State of Alabama LAN/WAN data circuits within the Network Operation Center.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor communication networks, equipment, and systems to identify alarms, alerts, and faults.
  • Respond to observed problems following standard infrastructure monitoring and management procedures.
  • Maintain professional relationships with network vendors, state agencies, and client personnel to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Create and update incidents, requests, problems, configuration items, and change requests within ServiceNow.
  • Follow up with customers via phone or in-person to ensure satisfaction before resolving assigned tickets.

Required Skills

  • 6-12 months of experience with LAN/WAN maintenance and support.
  • 6-12 months of experience in a call center or service desk environment.
  • Knowledge of voice and data circuits including troubleshooting and research.
  • Experience using incident ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
  • Proficiency with Solar Winds, Splunk, TruView, or CA Performance Center.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Skills

  • Some college or an Associate Degree in an IT field.
  • 6-12 months of IT work experience or equivalent college coursework in infrastructure/network environments.
