Description

Manage high-complexity Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows and laboratory operations within a public health setting.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute NGS workflows using Illumina or PacBIO instrumentation.
• Oversee daily performance of high-complexity testing and laboratory workflows.
• Compile, analyze, evaluate, and prepare detailed laboratory reports.
• Apply scientific methods and automated analysis techniques to solve public health laboratory challenges.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of high-complexity laboratory experience as testing personnel.
• Direct experience with Illumina or PacBIO sequencing instruments.
• Extensive knowledge of microbiology principles, theories, and practices.
• Experience with complex scientific apparatus and automated analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of CLIA regulations and state/federal laboratory policies.
• Ability to participate in proficiency testing programs.
• Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally.

Preferred Skills

• BA/BS in biological science or related field.
