Description

You will act as the subject matter expert for enterprise-wide observability, driving the strategy, tooling, and processes required to monitor complex distributed microservices.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to maintain and optimize the observability platform to ensure it operates within defined SLAs and SLOs.
• Establish strategies and tooling to provide self-service capabilities for data analysis, including dashboards, alerting, and automated incident response.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, and architecture teams to ensure telemetry from applications, business events, and infrastructure is accurately captured and tagged.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for products and services, providing technical guidance to developers on diagnosing application issues.
• Collaborate with QA teams to refine performance test objectives and scenarios to meet quality requirements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in observability, performance monitoring, or related infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on expertise with Dynatrace.
• Experience implementing OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to manage data collection, analysis, and visualization across the application lifecycle.
• Experience with capacity modeling, performance-driven design, and troubleshooting major security or application incidents.
• Ability to define and measure KPIs and business-critical transaction metrics.

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing and documenting observability standards, best practices, and executive dashboards to monitor KPIs and user behavior.
