Description

Develop and maintain distributed Progress 4GL applications using OpenEdge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build GUI and backend components using Progress 4GL and three-tier architecture.
• Create server-side programs for Classic Progress and V12 OpenEdge App Servers.
• Optimize query performance through index management and table/field tuning.
• Automate job execution using UNIX Shell scripts.
• Build and manage APIs with source and target OpenEdge databases.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with OpenEdge/Progress 4GL.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented OpenEdge and Open API development.
• Experience writing cursors, transactions, user-defined object types, records, and tables.
• Expertise in exception handling and debugging Progress code and DML.
• Strong background in data analysis, modeling, testing, and documentation.
• Experience with UNIX Shell scripts.
• Ability to work within distributed Progress 4GL environments.
