Description

You will manage the deployment, configuration, and optimization of DWDM line systems and optical devices.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure, build, and test new DWDM line system deployments, including calibration, verification, and BERT.
• Deploy and commission optical devices such as Ciena and Infinera in new PoPs and Data Center builds.
• Analyze data to diagnose root causes for network and tooling issues.
• Execute network optimization tasks including re-stripes, migrations, upgrades, and capacity swaps.
• Develop and update technical documentation and production workflows.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in optical networking.
• Expert knowledge of Ciena 6500 systems.
• Working knowledge of DWDM components including ROADM, Mux/Demux, Amplifiers, and Transponders.
• Hands-on experience with chassis installation, line card installation, and structured fiber installation.
• Proficiency in channel creation, cross-connect builds, and channel optimization.
• Experience with device software/firmware upgrades, re-bootstrapping, and decommissioning.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
• Solid understanding of fiber-optic technology, cable types, connector types, and optic types.
• CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Ciena or Infinera certifications.
