Description

You will own the development and quality assurance of the Modern Dispatch Optimisation Algorithm for the Electricity system operator Balancing program. You coordinate with business, QA, and developer teams to ensure rigorous testing and successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project and customer teams on the Dispatch algorithm within Balancing Transformation programs.
• Support the development and quality assurance of the Modern Optimisation Algorithm.
• Coordinate with functional teams and business stakeholders to review and test operational scenarios.
• Execute exploratory testing to identify defects, observations, and edge cases.
• Develop requirement tools and automate the testing of the optimization algorithm.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of mathematical programming solvers for LP, QP, and MIP problems (MILP, MIQP, MIQCP).
• Experience solving optimization problems using various techniques and developing custom data models and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, preprocessing, and analysis of large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Gurobi Optimizer.
• Ability to draw insights from large datasets using statistical computer languages.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering or similar technical domain.
