Description

You will design, implement, and manage Oracle database architectures across on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and deploy Oracle databases and compatible offerings.
• Evaluate new database versions and features for performance, scalability, availability, and security.
• Define and document architectures, configurations, and best practices for hosting and operational support teams.
• Design high availability configurations, including intra- and inter-data-center failover and replication.
• Partner with DBA and hosting teams to operationalize and harden OLTP technology.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering or infrastructure.
• Expertise in Oracle Database, GoldenGate replication, and Data Guard.
• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Hands-on experience with VMware hypervisors.
• Deep understanding of DBMS concepts including ACID, CAP, and consistency.
• Experience with physical and logical replication, cluster management, and automated provisioning.
• Knowledge of Oracle internals, replication settings, and performance tuning.
• Experience with backup, restoration, security mechanisms, and health monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Unix command line proficiency and scripting skills for database tools.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
