Description

You will manage and support SQL Server database environments, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and optimal performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document existing SQL Server environments to establish baselines.
• Support database migrations, including backup/restore, data transfers, and validation.
• Perform health checks and troubleshoot issues during and after migrations.
• Execute test migrations and contribute to performance tuning and optimization.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server administration and support (versions 2012 through latest).
• Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with SQL Server migration processes and tools (e.g., Data Migration Assistant, backup/restore, Always On, or log shipping).
• Working knowledge of SQL Server features like jobs, indexes, users/roles, and performance plans.
• Experience supporting on-premises and/or hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server tools: SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Profiler.
• Experience with cloud-based migration (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server).
• Troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle Database administration alongside SQL Server.
• Advanced cloud computing knowledge beyond basic migration tasks.
