Description

You will manage and execute the patching lifecycle for Exadata, including compute nodes, Dom U VMs, Grid Infrastructure, and Databases.

Responsibilities

• Execute Exadata Infrastructure maintenance, including Quarterly Maintenance Release (QMR) and Security Monthly Maintenance (SMR).
• Create infrastructure maintenance policies and define maintenance windows, including prep-work for maintenance activities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute OCI patching cycles across ExaCC infrastructure and DomU OS images and compute OS instances.
• Manage Oracle RAC patching encompassing GRID, RDBMS, and ASM, integrating operations via LCM Fleet with OEM.
• Plan, schedule, and execute quarterly PSU/CPU, Third-Party, and one-off patches while ensuring minimal downtime.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Oracle DBA roles.
• Expertise in managing Exadata environments.
• Proficiency with automation tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong experience with Linux administration.
• Hands-on ability using OCI console, CLI, and Rest APIs for patching.
• Knowledge of Data Guard enabled patching procedures.
• Ability to perform patch impact assessments, risk evaluations, and define rollback strategies.
• Experience troubleshooting patch-related issues, database failures, and providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
