Description

You will design, implement, and administer scalable database solutions across Azure and on-premises environments, owning the full lifecycle from migration to optimization.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect and execute end-to-end migrations from on-premises Oracle databases to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Manage and optimize Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases within hybrid environments, including Azure SQL Managed Instance and Cosmos DB.
• Implement database security, RBAC, auditing, and compliance mechanisms across Azure and legacy systems.
• Utilize Azure Arc and Azure VMware Solution (AVS) to extend management and governance to hybrid and multi-cloud database workloads.
• Perform performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization, using KQL for observability and dashboarding.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration and architecture.
• Strong proficiency with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Synapse.
• Hands-on experience with Azure migration tools such as DMA, DMS, and Azure Migrate.
• Practical knowledge of Azure Arc, Azure VMware Solution (AVS), and hybrid integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, and Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for monitoring and observability.
• Deep understanding of database security, encryption, and role-based access control (RBAC).

Preferred Skills

• Experience extending Azure management to on-premises legacy systems.
• Background in mentoring junior database staff and collaborating with DevOps teams.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
