Description

Analyze and evaluate application, system, and ecosystem performance across multiple tiers, focusing on the data tier in cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify performance and scalability bottlenecks and implement solutions to resolve them.
• Simulate user and system traffic to measure, evaluate, and analyze component behavior.
• Optimize code, queries, and system configurations to improve response time and resource efficiency.
• Analyze Oracle wait events, AWR Raw data, and traces to correlate observations with system behavior.
• Extrapolate system behavior under representative loads to predict performance under full stress.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience tuning large Oracle databases in AWS (50+ TB).
• Extensive experience with Oracle Exadata databases, clusters, and single node non-Exadata tuning.
• Proficiency with Oracle wait interface, event analysis, and AWR, ASH, and ADDM generation/analysis.
• Expertise in Oracle AWR Raw data analysis and interpretation.
• Strong skills in Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning, and session tracing.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle internals pertaining to database performance.
• Ability to use modeling and mapping tools such as Visio or Erwin.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
• Experience presenting complex technical analysis and metrics to diverse audiences.
