Description

Manage z/OS environments, upgrades, and system stability for 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation, testing, and customization of z/OS upgrades and ISV products.
• Perform root cause analysis and document technical issues and system failures.
• Implement changes to z/OS and installed software, including regular maintenance (RSUs).
• Develop and test backup and restoration strategies.
• Monitor system performance and tune z/OS systems to meet SLA requirements.

Required Skills

• Deep understanding of z/OS services, JES concepts, parallel sysplex/GDPS, and catalog management.
• Experience with PARMLIB configuration and JES customization.
• Proficiency in JCL, REXX, CLIST, and Modify Assembler EXITs.
• Hands-on experience with SMP/E and USS management.
• Knowledge of z/OS hardware, LPAR, and HMC.
• Experience with IMS, MQ Series (WebSphere MQ), and RACF.
• Ability to install and support ISV products such as CA-View, CA-1, BMC Incontrol, and CA-7.
• Experience installing and maintaining CICS and related products.
• Skill in using performance monitoring tools like SAS, MXG, CA-MICS, Strobe, and Omegamon.

Preferred Skills

• Experience installing, customizing, and maintaining IBM and ISV automation products.
