Description

You will design and develop returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping. You will own the release pipeline for packaging specifications, ensuring efficiency in receiving, warehousing, and line-side delivery.

Responsibilities

• Establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions and cost savings.
• Develop, communicate, and maintain supplier packaging requirements.
• Create packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modeling software.
• Lead initiatives with suppliers and facilities to improve efficiency in receiving, warehousing, and line-side delivery.
• Perform cost analysis, develop business cases, and validate new packaging during pilot phases.

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer or Packaging Analyst.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software such as Pro-E, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Experience in supply chain optimization and part containment.
• Ability to audit supplier conformance to packaging specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Manufacturing Enterprise Packaging Systems, Pack Assistant, or Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of 6 Sigma project management principles.
• Experience in automotive packaging design or manufacturing operations.
