Description

You will lead the daily payroll operations for a workforce of over 10,000 staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments while managing a team of up to five administrators.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the daily workload for up to five payroll administrators to meet strict service deadlines.
• Execute complex transactional payroll processes and investigate irregularities to maintain data integrity.
• Monitor staff performance, attendance, and absenteeism against established quality standards.
• Conduct system and policy testing during legislative changes or software upgrades to ensure compliance.
• Ensure adherence to accounting, taxation, and data protection legislation across all operations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in payroll operations within high-volume environments (10,000+ employees).
• Proven experience managing a team of payroll administrators.
• Deep understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC statutory requirements.
• Expertise in handling large-scale financial workloads exceeding £200m.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and taxation legislation affecting payroll.
• Experience with data protection compliance and investigative reporting.
• Graduate degree in any discipline.
