Description

You will design and integrate complex electronic systems using COTS components and custom electrical designs.

Responsibilities

• Select and integrate COTS components, including embedded microprocessors, single-board computers, and PLCs.
• Design interfaces for data communications protocols including Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
• Develop DC power systems (24V to 5000VDC) and AC power systems (up to 3000+ VAC).
• Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and system block diagrams.
• Implement grounding, wiring, and cabling strategies to minimize EMI and electrical noise.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in electronic systems design and component selection.
• Proficiency with SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MathCAD, and MATLAB.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and CTDR/OTDR.
• Working knowledge of IPC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC, ISO, NEMA, and NEC standards.
• Practical technician skills in assembly, wiring, soldering, and cabling.
• Experience with DC and AC power system design.
• Ability to document and present engineering concepts to technical teams and customers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the marine industry with ROVs, AUVs, or underwater robotic systems.
• Experience with fiber-optics and machine safety systems.
