Description

Key Responsibilities

1. PeopleSoft Administration

  • Administer and support PeopleSoft application, web, application server, Process Scheduler, and database environments.
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and environment refreshes.
  • Manage PeopleSoft domains, application servers, Process Scheduler servers, and web servers.
  • Monitor system health, performance, logs, processes, and batch jobs.
  • Manage user access, security roles, permissions, and environment configurations.
  • Support PeopleTools upgrades and application maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate deployments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.

2. PeopleSoft Technical Development

  • Develop and maintain PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, SQR, and SQL.
  • Design and develop custom PeopleSoft components based on business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain pages, components, records, fields, queries, and processes.
  • Perform technical analysis, debugging, code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
  • Create technical specifications and development documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and customization-related issues.

3. Production Support

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for PeopleSoft applications.
  • Monitor critical business processes, batch jobs, interfaces, and scheduled processes.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents, performance issues, job failures, and application errors.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
  • Support incident, problem, and change-management processes.
  • Coordinate with functional teams, database administrators, infrastructure teams, and business users.
  • Participate in on-call/after-hours support when required.

4. PeopleSoft Integration

  • Design, develop, and support integrations between PeopleSoft and external/internal applications.
  • Work with Integration Broker, REST/SOAP Web Services, APIs, XML, JSON, and HTTP/HTTPS.
  • Develop and maintain synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Integration Broker nodes, messages, queues, routings, and service operations.
  • Support inbound and outbound interfaces with third-party systems.
  • Monitor integration failures and perform troubleshooting and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with integration and middleware teams to resolve interface issues.

5. Performance & Operational Support

  • Analyze PeopleSoft performance issues and recommend optimization opportunities.
  • Tune SQL, Application Engine processes, batch jobs, and application-server configurations.
  • Monitor database and application performance in collaboration with DBA and infrastructure teams.
  • Automate routine administrative and support activities where possible.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Administration and PeopleTools.
  • Strong PeopleCode development experience.
  • Experience with Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, and PeopleSoft Query.
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft application, web, and Process Scheduler servers.
  • Experience supporting PeopleSoft production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP web services and PeopleSoft integrations.
  • Knowledge of XML, JSON, APIs, and integration technologies.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft migrations and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and shell scripting is desirable.
  • Experience with Oracle or other PeopleSoft-supported databases is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Financials, Campus Solutions, or other PeopleSoft modules.
  • Experience with PeopleTools upgrades, patches, and application upgrades.
  • Knowledge of enterprise scheduling and batch-processing tools.
  • Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience with monitoring and automation tools.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant PeopleSoft experience, preferably across administration, development, production support, and integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
