Description

You will own the performance engineering of distributed computing environments and provide analytical stress evaluations of applications and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination between performance, product, development, DBA, middleware, and network teams.
• Define and maintain non-functional requirements within test plans.
• Conduct root cause analysis of performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot infrastructure or application issues.
• Develop and maintain statistical and analytical models of key performance metrics.
• Deliver performance analysis, reporting, and presentations to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of related experience with at least 6 years focused on performance engineering (analysis, testing, and tuning).
• 4+ years of experience developing n-tier, J2EE software applications.
• 4+ years of experience working in Unix or Linux environments.
• Proficiency with load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Experience with scripting in Perl, Unix shell, or Python.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD tools including Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle or MSSQL.
• Working knowledge of RESTful web services, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with messaging systems such as JMS/IBM-MQ.

Preferred Skills

• Background in advanced statistical modeling, time series analysis, and queuing network modeling.
• Expertise in distributed platforms including AWS, Containers, and VMware.
