Description

You will provide technical process and equipment guidance for pilot plant operations and chemical manufacturing processes in Mesa, AZ.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and processes by conducting lab-scale and in-plant equipment trials.
• Design new equipment or modify existing setups, including P&ID updates and control logic implementation.
• Lead risk assessments, HazOps, and root cause investigations to develop corrective actions.
• Act as the PSM MOC Coordinator and manage monthly air permit compliance and safety audits.
• Support capital projects through equipment specification, quoting, commissioning, and installation reviews.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of process engineering experience in a PSM chemical plant environment.
• Extensive experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Proven expertise in process scale-up and performing heat and material balances.
• Experience managing capital projects and equipment specifications.
• Proficiency with Aspen Plus, AutoCAD, and JMP.
• Ability to develop, program, and implement process control logic changes.
• Strong data analysis skills for conducting equipment trials and summarizing results.

Preferred Skills

• Programming Rockwell Plant PAX (ladder logic and function block) and FactoryTalk software (Historian, Alarm & Event).
• Experience leading HazOp reviews.
