Description

You will own the stability and security of applications running on SUSE and Red Hat Linux distributions.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating system-level issues and open-source package lifecycles.
• Produce install and upgrade scripts and automate the creation of AWS AMI and Azure VHDX images.
• Generate Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and analyze Software Composition Analysis output to identify security risks.
• Evaluate Common Vulnerability Exposures (CVEs) and apply security patches when upstream fixes are unavailable in the Linux distribution.
• Implement malware detection software and support installation or upgrade issues for customers.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in platform or systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE distributions.
• Proficiency in Linux, shell commands, and shell scripting.
• Ability to program in C/C++.
• Working knowledge of the CVE process and software installation/upgrade procedures.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills.
