You will own the core implementation and maintenance of the data catalog platform.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage data catalog environments, including metadata models, glossaries, and taxonomies.
• Implement custom metadata templates and build data lineage capture and enrichment pipelines.
• Operationalize data governance by managing catalog workflows, stewardship assignments, and role-based access (RBAC/ABAC).
• Ensure security and compliance by integrating SSO (SAML/OIDC), managing user provisioning, and implementing data masking.
• Maintain catalog reliability through capacity planning, scaling ingestion jobs, tuning crawlers, and managing disaster recovery.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
• Expertise in data catalog implementation (Atlan or Alation).
• Experience integrating metadata from data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL Server.
• Proficiency with ETL/pipeline tools such as ADF and SSIS.
• Familiarity with BI tools including Tableau and Power BI.
• Experience setting up and integrating lineage and observability tooling with alerting and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to implement change management processes across DEV, QA, UA, and PROD environments.
• Strong communication skills for direct technical questioning and collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with disaster recovery planning for data platforms.
