Description
Design, debug, and commission Siemens PLC logic and SCADA systems for industrial automation projects.
This role is on-site.
Responsibilities
- Develop and debug complex PLC code using TIA Portal or Step 7 Classic, writing logic in Ladder Logic (LAD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Control Language (SCL).
- Configure Siemens hardware (S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, ET 200) and create reusable Function Blocks (FBs) and Data Blocks (DBs) for standardized project execution.
- Design SCADA systems and HMI interfaces using WinCC Professional, WinCC V7.x, or WinCC Unified, including graphics, alarms, trends, and scripting with C-Script, VBScript, or JavaScript.
- Establish communication between PLCs, HMIs, and drives using PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and Modbus TCP/RTU, and configure SINAMICS VFDs via Start drive.
- Validate logic using PLCSIM and PLCSIM Advanced, perform on-site commissioning including I/O checking and PID tuning, and maintain detailed as-built documentation.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7 Classic, S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, and ET 200 systems.
- Strong knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages, primarily Ladder Logic, FBD, and SCL.
- Experience designing SCADA/HMI screens using WinCC Professional, WinCC V7.x, or WinCC Unified.
- Ability to script in VBScript, C-Script, or JavaScript for dynamic UI elements and background tasks.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols including PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and Modbus TCP/RTU.
- Experience with SINAMICS VFD configuration and PLCSIM/PLCSIM Advanced simulation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience interfacing SCADA systems with SQL databases or higher-level MES/ERP systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical panels.
