You will design and review aerial telecommunications projects, focusing on distribution pole lines, FTTX, FTTC, and MDU designs.
Responsibilities
Perform pole loading calculations using SpidaCalc and QuickPole.
Create permit drawings using AutoCAD.
Conduct research by interpreting field data, land base maps, civil blueprints, survey documents, and field sketches.
Compare map and drawing data against network facility records and geographical resources to complete pole line designs for FTTH, BAU, and relocation projects.
Inspect aerial communications lines and poles.
Required Skills
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in Ontario.
5+ years of experience in telecommunications or related engineering fields.
Proficiency with QuickPole, SpidaCalc, and PLS CAD.
Experience with CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines.
Background in aerial communications line and pole inspections.
Experience with distribution pole line, FTTX, FTTC, and long-haul/interoffice fiber MDU designs.
Competency in AutoCAD for permit drawing creation.
Knowledge of Aerials, Cable Management, Civil Engineering, and Fiber Optic Cable.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1), distribution networks (F2), and 5G/Smart City high-level designs.
Familiarity with permitting processes for highways, railroads, cities, and counties.
