Description

Design and review aerial permitting and OSP telecommunications projects. You will own the structural integrity of pole line designs for FTTH, BAU, relocation, and MDU initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform pole loading calculations using Spidacalc and Quickpole.
• Create detailed permit drawings using AutoCAD.
• Interpret field data, land base maps, civil blueprints, survey documents, and field sketches.
• Compare map and drawing information against network facility records and governmental resources.

Required Skills

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in Ontario.
• Expertise in Quickpole, SpidaCalc, OCalc, or PLS CAD.
• Experience with distribution pole line, FTTX, FTTC, and long-haul/interoffice fiber MDU designs.
• Proficiency in Aerial Communications line and poles inspections or design.
• Working knowledge of CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines.
• Experience in civil, structural, mechanical engineering, construction, or telecommunications.
• Strong understanding of basic computer concepts and technology.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1), distribution networks (F2), and 5G/Smart City high-level designs.
• Experience with permitting processes for highways, railroads, cities, or counties.
• Background in architecture.
