Description

You will manage and maintain mission-critical PostgreSQL database infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations and troubleshoot performance issues such as high load averages, locks, blocking, and long-running SQL.
• Execute database backups, restores, and manage upgrades across minor and major versions.
• Implement and maintain database replication and point-in-time recovery mechanisms.
• Administer multi-terabyte databases supporting high transaction volumes.
• Tune common configuration parameters and system tables to optimize performance.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience administering large-scale PostgreSQL databases.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture.
• Hands-on experience with database replication tools such as Repmgr, pgpool, or efm.
• Experience deploying and managing PostgreSQL in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Proficiency in managing high-volume, mission-critical database workloads.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL deployment on RDS or EC2.
• Strong ability to independently learn new database technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with SingleStore MemSQL.
