Description

Manage and optimize PostgreSQL environments across on-prem, hybrid cloud, and AWS RDS. Own the full lifecycle of database infrastructure, from installation to performance tuning and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL software, implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems.
• Architect and configure high-availability solutions using Enterprise Failover Manager or similar technologies for failover and hot standby.
• Lead system and SQL performance tuning efforts and assist with business process integration across various data sources.
• Implement Postgres STIG, testing, and vulnerability remediation protocols to ensure security compliance.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database design, changes, and application enhancements.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of DBA experience specifically with PostgreSQL 9.6+.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL on Linux (RHEL), Microsoft Windows, and Kubernetes via OpenShift.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS instances and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting.
• Working knowledge of connection poolers such as pgPool and pgBouncer.
• Strong understanding of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Expertise in building scalable clusters and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with ElasticSearch, Python, Oracle Data Modeler, Erwin, Toad, and Visio.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues under high demand and tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MongoDB and Couchbase.
