You will own the Postgres database administration and escalation process for the Banking Industry project.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, migrate, maintain, and upgrade PostgreSQL and AWS RDS platforms.
• Manage day-to-day operations across EDB and AWS services, including S3 and EC2.
• Implement maintainable database coding practices to form the architectural foundation.
• Perform Postgres SQL performance improvement, indexing, and partitioning.
• Manage Postgres SQL migration approaches between on-premises and AWS environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience managing Postgres databases, specifically within the EDB ecosystem.
• 5+ years of cloud database experience, preferably AWS, including RDS service management, IAM, and security policies.
• Advanced understanding of Linux OS and SSH configuration with password and key pairs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, capacity planning, and performance assessment.
• Strong production DB administration experience with Postgres and SQL Server.
• Practical experience with monitoring, Performance Insights, and RDS KPI design.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, GitHub, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD using GitLab and batch job scheduling automation.
• Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, and isolation levels.
