Description

You will own the end-to-end administration and lifecycle of PostgreSQL database environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning.
• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Active/Active and Active/Passive clusters.
• Perform proactive monitoring, query optimization, and performance tuning to ensure system efficiency.
• Execute change management across development, test, QA, and production environments.
• Develop and enforce database security policies, including STIG implementation and vulnerability remediation.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a DBA working specifically with PostgreSQL 9.6+.
• Hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL on Linux (RHEL), Microsoft Windows, and Kubernetes via OpenShift.
• Proven experience managing PostgreSQL in AWS RDS and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting.
• Deep understanding of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with connection poolers such as pgPool and pgBouncer.
• Expertise in configuring Enterprise Failover Manager or similar high availability technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to maintain operational documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Strong Python programming skills for developing automation and integration applications.
• Experience with data modeling tools like Erwin, Toad, or Visio.
• EnterpriseDB Postgres Database Administration Certification.
