Description

You will manage, maintain, and optimize Postgres and Sybase database environments to ensure high availability and performance.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install, tune, upgrade, and patch DBMS installations across supported platforms.
• Design schemas, perform code reviews, and assist developers with SQL query tuning.
• Monitor system logs, work processes, locks, and disk space to maintain production uptime.
• Execute database recovery procedures during system crashes or log failures.
• Manage replication setup, troubleshooting, and failover processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in Postgres, Sybase (SAP Sybase, RepServer), and Oracle (including Oracle ASM).
• Strong SQL tuning and performance analysis capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with automation using Python, Shell, or Go.
• Proficiency with Linux environments and KornShell (KSH).
• Experience managing databases in AWS RDS and Azure.
• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies including Redis and Cassandra.
• Experience with Veritas Clustering and Disaster Recovery setup.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP Hana.
