Description

You will own the end-to-end database development lifecycle within Postgres environments, designing data models and optimizing performance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement logical and physical data models independently.
• Develop, debug, and optimize complex stored procedures and functions using PL/pgSQL.
• Analyze SQL execution plans and apply performance tuning to long-running queries.
• Enforce data integrity through integrity constraints and database triggers.
• Manage database objects including tables, indexes, synonyms, and triggers.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Postgres database development.
• Deep expertise in PL/pgSQL and creating database objects.
• Experience with Postgres version 9 or above (Open Source, EDB, or Percona).
• Proficiency in Unix shell scripting or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with version control tools including GitLab, SVN, or CVS.
• Strong understanding of SQL (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with batch processing and scheduling scripts via pgAgent.
• Ability to perform Unit, Integration, and Performance testing.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Postgres Associate Developer or Oracle SQL/PLSQL Developer certification.
