Description

You will manage and optimize large-scale PostgreSQL environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity across banking and cloud infrastructure.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Manage PostgreSQL versions 12 through 15, including architecture, design, and daily operations.
• Execute backup and recovery strategies using PG_DUMP, WAL archiving, and Point-in-Time Recovery.
• Configure and maintain replication, failover, and clustering using REPMGR and PGBACKREST.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and complex problem resolution for large-scale deployments.
• Manage patching, upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery tests.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL 12, 13, 14, and 15.
• Proficiency in backup/recovery tools: PG_DUMP, PG_DUMPALL, WAL archiving.
• Experience with extensions and tools: REPMGR, PGBACKREST, pg_repack, pg_bouncer, pg_crypto, pg_audit.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Ansible, Python, or Perl.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL configuration (postgresql.conf, pg_hba.conf).
• Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Ability to manage environments with 1000+ databases.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the banking domain.
• Experience managing AaS platform or core/cloud-based infra environments.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills for global stakeholder management.
