Description

You will manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases in a highly regulated environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL RDBMS.
• Manage core database procedures including upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations.
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, resource profiling, and storage engine analysis.
• Implement security controls while following strict SDLC and change-management principles.
• Automate database tasks using shell scripting and manage deployments via Jenkins and Terraform.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of PostgreSQL DBA experience.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL replication and underlying storage engines.
• Strong SQL coding, tuning, and performance assessment skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/Cloud services including EC2, RDS, and Aurora.
• Proficiency with Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Terraform for cloud deployments.
• Experience with shell scripting and automation.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL pgAdmin client connectivity.
• Experience using monitoring and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Zenoss, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or AppDynamics.
• Proven ability to manage data quality, management, and testing strategies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in highly regulated industries with strict security requirements.
