Description

You will manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases across client-facing and internal application environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-prem to cloud migrations, including backup/restore, export/import, load testing, and benchmarking.
• Monitor large-scale database infrastructure proactively to ensure stability and performance.
• Troubleshoot high-priority incidents, perform root cause analysis, and make technical decisions during remediation.
• Manage change control and problem management processes, including creating and implementing change records.
• Execute capacity planning, database updates, and software deployments during maintenance windows.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Server DBA in an enterprise environment.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, design, and implementation.
• Proven experience with database backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
• Ability to perform load testing and benchmark old versus new environments.
• Strong capacity planning skills for database infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other database platforms such as Oracle, SQL, or DB2.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and service models including AWS and Azure.
