You will manage and optimize PostgreSQL database platforms to ensure high availability and consistent performance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain critical database systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain database structures.
• Monitor database health and manage performance using standard tools.
• Execute performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
• Implement database security best practices.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL installation and configuration.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
• Strong understanding of database design and implementation.
• Proven experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Deep knowledge of backup and recovery protocols.
• Ability to work on-site in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Bachelor's degree or any graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based services including AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle DBA or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
