Description

You will manage and support large-scale PostgreSQL production environments to ensure stability, performance, and data integrity.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end production support, including incident triaging, root cause analysis, and remediation of system errors.
• Manage database availability, execute backups via pgBackRest, and lead disaster recovery efforts.
• Optimize database performance through tuning, index management, and proactive monitoring using Splunk.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to implement code updates, configuration changes, and security patches.
• Execute routine maintenance, tablespace management, role management, and schema updates.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in production database operations.
• Deep expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL on Linux.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL HA clustered environments and contingency replication.
• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes and OpenShift cluster management for PostgreSQL.
• Advanced shell scripting skills and experience writing Ansible playbooks.
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka and Splunk monitoring.
• Competency in database design, optimization, security (access, auditing, encryption), and schema maintenance.
• Familiarity with Oracle and F5 load balancing (GTM/LTM) concepts.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Red Hat Linux or DevOps certifications.
• Knowledge of Ansible Tower and CI/CD methodologies.
