Description

You will design and architect PostgreSQL database systems for high availability, performance, and scalability.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Define database standards, schema design principles, and best practices for indexing and partitioning.
• Plan and implement replication, sharding, and failover strategies.
• Develop and maintain capacity and scalability plans.
• Work with developers and data engineers for schema optimization and SQL tuning.
• Lead database modernization initiatives, including migrations from MSSQL or MySQL to PostgreSQL.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of DBA experience, with at least 6+ years focused on PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience in PostgreSQL architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL tuning.
• Experience migrating from MSSQL/MySQL.
• Ability to provide technical mentorship to DBAs and development teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-availability cluster management.
