Description

You will manage, maintain, and optimize critical PostgreSQL RDBMS instances hosted on Linux-based servers.

Responsibilities

• Manage PostgreSQL database servers through all lifecycle stages, from initial design to production.
• Configure and maintain database processes, monitoring system health, performance, availability, and security.
• Apply data modeling techniques to support integration and performance requirements.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning, reference refinement, and stored procedure development.
• Research and recommend structural and performance enhancements while maintaining technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar RDBMS administration.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL and CLI interfaces including PSQL and SQL*Plus.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems.
• Experience with performance tuning, optimization, and native monitoring/troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models.
• Experience with range type table and index partitioning.
• Experience with automatic queuing such as PGQ.
• Proficiency in stored procedure scripting languages like PG/PLSQL or PLSQL.
• Knowledge of Physical High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) methods.
