Description

You will manage the lifecycle, performance, and availability of PostgreSQL database systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, staging, and production environments.
• Analyze and optimize database performance by tuning queries, indexes, and resource usage using tools like EXPLAIN and ANALYZE.
• Implement, test, and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery procedures using pg_dump, pg_restore, and WAL logs.
• Configure and enforce security policies, managing user roles, access controls, and auditing compliance.
• Configure and maintain replication strategies (master-slave, synchronous replication, clustering) to ensure high availability.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar database management role.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL installation, configuration, and administration.
• Strong understanding of SQL and database optimization techniques.
• Experience with PostgreSQL tools (e.g., pgAdmin, psql) and monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat, pgBadger).
• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies.
• Understanding of database replication concepts.
• Experience with cloud services like AWS RDS or Google Cloud SQL.

Preferred Skills

• 8+ years of total working experience in database management.
• Graduate degree in a relevant technical field.
