Description

You will manage and optimize PostgreSQL and AWS RDS database environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, migrate, and upgrade open-source PostgreSQL and AWS RDS platforms.
• Implement effective database coding practices, partitioning, and indexing to improve performance.
• Manage high availability and resiliency using Aurora Read Replicas and Global Database.
• Execute database migrations, including estimation and technical management.
• Monitor database health using Performance Insights, RDS KPIs, and capacity planning.

Required Skills

• 10-12 years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases.
• 5 years of experience with AWS RDS, including IAM, security policies, and user authentication.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in Python and Linux OS management via SSH.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, GitHub, and Jira.
• Strong knowledge of query optimization, index management, and isolation levels.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and EDB.
• Experience with CI/CD using GitLab and batch process automation.
• Familiarity with PgBouncer and PgPool.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with message queuing and full-text indexing.
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools.
