Description

Act as the single point of contact for AWS database administration and escalations in the banking sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage, install, configure, patch, migrate, and upgrade PostgreSQL and AWS RDS instances.
• Implement database coding practices, partitioning, and indexing to ensure architectural stability.
• Configure high availability and resiliency using Aurora Read Replicas and Global Database.
• Execute capacity planning and performance assessments for AWS RDS environments.
• Monitor database health using Performance Insights and manage RDS KPIs.

Required Skills

• 10-12 years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases.
• 5 years of experience with AWS RDS, including security policies, user authentication, and IAM.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, and Lambda.
• Expertise with PostgreSQL administration tools such as PgBouncer and PgPool.
• Strong knowledge of database design, query optimization, index management, and isolation levels.
• Proficiency with Linux OS and SSH connectivity using public/private keys.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure tools: Ansible, Terraform, and GitHub.
• Practical experience with CI/CD workflows using GitLab.
• Technical proficiency in Python for database-related tasks.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of EDB, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Experience managing complex migrations and technical estimations.
