Description

You will manage advanced database operations, focusing on performance tuning, replication, and disaster recovery for PostgreSQL environments.

Responsibilities

• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and configuration parameter adjustments.
• Manage replication and high-availability setups using streaming or logical replication and connection pooling.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies, including Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) testing.
• Execute major version upgrades and cross-platform migrations, such as moving from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Automate routine database tasks and infrastructure deployment using scripting and IaC tools.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting for deadlocks, replication lag, and high latency issues.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in database administration.
• Advanced proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Hands-on experience with pgBackRest and Psql.
• Experience with automation and configuration tools including Ansible and Terraform.
• Proficiency in monitoring stacks using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of Oracle database environments for migration purposes.
• Expertise in SQL and PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures and triggers.
