Description

You will own the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of PostgreSQL database environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, staging, and production environments.
• Analyze and tune database performance by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource usage using EXPLAIN and ANALYZE.
• Implement, test, and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data restorability using pg_dump and WAL logs.
• Configure and enforce security policies, including user roles and access controls, while monitoring database health.
• Configure and maintain replication strategies to ensure high availability and plan for future capacity scaling.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL database installation, configuration, and administration.
• Strong command of SQL and database optimization techniques.
• Experience with PostgreSQL tools such as pgAdmin and psql.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, including pg_dump and WAL logs.
• Understanding of database replication concepts (e.g., master-slave).
• Experience with database monitoring tools and tracking system anomalies.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
