Description

You will manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments, including performing database refreshes and executing patching and upgrade activities.
• Analyze query execution plans, tune configurations, and implement best practices to resolve performance issues related to memory management, indexing, and query optimization.
• Implement and manage repmgr cluster technology for high availability and failover, troubleshooting node failures to minimize downtime.
• Design and execute migration strategies from on-premises to cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration with GCP or Azure services.
• Implement logical and physical backup strategies using native PostgreSQL tools and third-party solutions, while configuring logical and streaming replication for data synchronization.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, including WAL, MVCC, and vacuum processes.
• Hands-on experience with repmgr clustering, failover handling, and node recovery.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Working knowledge of logical replication and streaming replication.
• Familiarity with Oracle DBA, RMAN, Goldengate, and Exadata.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) for database deployments.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, or Grafana.
