Description

You will manage and maintain production PostgreSQL environments across various cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Administer PostgreSQL databases (9.x – 17) on Linux and Windows, focusing on performance tuning and query optimization.
• Implement and manage high availability solutions using tools like Patroni, pg_auto_failover, and Streaming Replication.
• Design and execute backup and recovery strategies using pgBackRest, WAL Archiving, and Snapshots.
• Drive database modernization projects, migrating data from Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and NoSQL sources to PostgreSQL.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment using Terraform Enterprise, Ansible, and Azure DevOps Pipelines.

Required Skills

• 11+ years of experience with PostgreSQL administration and database operations.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Proficiency with cloud providers, specifically AWS and Azure, including RDS and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts, including Snowflake architecture and administration.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation tasks.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Familiarity with configuration management using Ansible.
• Knowledge of replication technologies (e.g., Logical Replication, Streaming Replication).
