Description

You will manage and optimize PostgreSQL database environments across production, DR, and non-production infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch PostgreSQL databases and manage high availability using streaming and logical replication.
• Monitor and tune SQL queries, indexes, memory, I/O, and vacuum processes to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Automate database tasks and support CI/CD pipelines using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
• Execute backups and recovery using Barman and native PostgreSQL utilities.
• Manage database migrations from on-premises to AWS RDS using DMS and native tools.
• Act as an L3 escalation point for complex incidents and perform root cause analysis.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and on-premises PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with Aurora and AWS cloud database services.
• Expertise in SQL tuning and analyzing execution plans.
• Automation experience with Shell, Python, and Ansible.
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration and DevOps practices.
• Experience implementing RBAC, encryption, and auditing for security compliance.
• Ability to manage high availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GCP Cloud SQL or Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
