Description

You will own database design, migration, and optimization within PostgreSQL environments. You ensure data integrity while leading migrations from legacy systems to cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PostgreSQL databases to meet business requirements.
• Lead migration projects from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL databases across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Resolve performance issues by optimizing slow queries, indexing, and storage.
• Automate routine tasks, backups, and monitoring using custom scripts.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database development and administration.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Expertise in database migration, including data mapping, transformation, and validation.
• Experience with database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
• Familiarity with pgAdmin, pg_dump, or DBeaver.
• Ability to implement security best practices, including access controls and encryption.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience migrating specifically from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server.
