Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, redesign, and modernization of legacy reports into modern Power BI solutions.

Serve as the technical lead for a team of 4+ Power BI developers.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, code/design reviews, and best-practice direction to development team members.

Design and develop enterprise-level Power BI reports and dashboards supporting business operations, program leadership, and analytics.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and ETL developers to ensure accurate and reliable data sourcing from BigQuery data marts.

Develop visually effective, accessible, standardized, and user-friendly reports.

Establish and enforce Power BI development, reporting, governance, security, and documentation standards.

Perform testing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of reporting solutions.

Gather and analyze reporting requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Validate data elements, business rules, calculations, and reporting requirements.

Support enterprise reporting initiatives and coordinate deliverables across multiple program areas.

Create and maintain technical documentation, report specifications, data definitions, and support materials.

Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Help identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data visualization, and reporting performance.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in an enterprise environment.

5+ years of experience with modern ETL and Reporting/Business Intelligence tools.

5+ years of experience serving as a Technical Lead for a team of 4 or more developers.

Strong understanding of data modeling, data relationships, and enterprise reporting architecture.

Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices and enterprise reporting standards.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working with business users to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.

Experience with report testing, data validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.

Preferred Experience

Experience modernizing or replacing legacy/mainframe reports with Power BI solutions.

Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery or similar cloud-based data platforms.

Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise data warehouses and data marts.

Experience with Power BI governance, security, documentation, and enterprise standards.

Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.

Knowledge of reporting accessibility standards and accessible data visualization practices
