You will develop operational models and conduct generation modeling to support effective system management.
Responsibilities
Develop operational models from the Network Model Management System and create steady state and geomagnetic disturbance models using PSS/E and Model On Demand.
Build short circuit models using ASPEN Oneliner and coordinate contingency building processes with the System Protection Working Group.
Model transmission generation sites and distributed resources in planning models while correcting invalid equipment data.
Manage transmission system model software infrastructure, including database interfaces and model management tools.
Develop and maintain modeling software and validation tools using Java and Python.
Review and draft changes to protocols, guides, and procedures while assessing NERC standard updates.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in power system engineering or a similar role.
Proficiency in PSS/E, ASPEN Oneliner, or PowerWorld.
Programming experience in Python, Java, or C#.
Knowledge of SQL for data validation.
Experience with Spwg workflows and transmission network model maintenance.
Ability to work within cross-disciplinary teams to resolve modeling issues.
