Description

You will own the cost estimation and budgeting process for commercial construction projects in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including quantity takeoffs, line items, and subcontractor summaries by division.
• Develop project cost budgets using historical data, unit pricing, and vendor proposals.
• Negotiate agreements with subcontractors and vendors to secure project requirements.
• Verify site conditions of vacancies and incorporate findings into project budgets.
• Manage the distribution of project plans and specifications.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of commercial estimating experience, ideally with a general contractor or developer.
• Proven experience in commercial costing and detailed estimating.
• Ability to negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask under time constraints.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in construction management or project management.

Preferred Skills

• Two-year construction degree or a related technical degree.
• Background as a Site Superintendent transitioning into project management.
